The Football Association is reviewing its appeals policy following Fifa's advice over the decision to downgrade Jermaine Jenas' red card at Arsenal.
FA disciplinary chiefs were contacted by Fifa, which is at odds over its decison to back referee Steve Bennett's plea to make the red card a caution.
But Fifa's intervention will not affect the FA's ruling on Jenas.
An FA spokesman told BBC Sport: "There is no suggestion the decision regarding Jermaine Jenas will be overturned."
Jenas was shown a red card for his challenge on Gilberto Silva in his side's 2-0 defeat by the Gunners on Sunday.

But they did not need to, because the official moved swiftly to address the situation.
