Injury blow for O'Brien
Newcastle youngster Alan O'Brien has suffered a broken leg in a training ground accident.

The midfielder, who joined the Magpies from St Joseph's Boys schoolboy club in the Republic of Ireland, was a regular in United's reserves last season.

However, O'Brien will now be out of action for around three months.

He has not yet featured for Newcastle's first team, although he was given a squad number - 54 - for the purposes of last season's Champions League.
