Bellamy feels victimised
Craig Bellamy
Bellamy has a history of disciplinary troubles
Newcastle striker Craig Bellamy claims he is being singled out by referees because of his hot-head reputation.

The 23-year-old has already missed six of his side's Champions League games through suspension this season.

He was convicted on video evidence of head-butting Dynamo Kiev defender Tiberiu Ghione and then sent-off for kicking out at Inter Milan's Marco Materazzi.

And only last week Bellamy was hit with a charge of using abusive and/or insulting words to a match official by the Football Association.

The charge relates to a reported confrontation with referee Andy D'Urso after the Premiership game at Middlesbrough on 6 March.

"I am facing a misconduct charge I cannot understand," said Bellamy.

"I can't believe the ref has reported me.

"I feel I have been picked on because of my reputation. I'm annoyed, but have to get on with it.

"I've gained a reputation for being a bad boy, but I've also gained a reputation for being a good player."
