Magpies swoop for Jenas
![]() Newcastle's Jenas move follows the injury to Kieron Dyer
Nottingham Forest have accepted a £5m offer for Jermaine Jenas from Newcastle United.
A fortnight ago Newcastle had a £4m offer for the 18-year-old midfielder rejected by Forest, who have serious financial problems. But with Kieron Dyer's stress fracture of the foot ruling him out for the next two months, Newcastle have now upped their offer. "We have accepted what we feel to be a very good offer from Newcastle for Jermaine," said Forest's chief executive Mark Arthur. A product of Forest's Academy system, Jenas has made 31 appearances for the Division One club this season. The England Under-19 captain is due to meet Newcastle manager Bobby Robson to discuss personal terms. |
