Everton duo remain at Motherwell for season

Everton duo John Ruddy and Lukas Jutkiewicz have extended their loan deals at Motherwell until the end of the season.

Interim Well manager Craig Brown and Everton boss David Moyes struck a deal following talks on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Ruddy has eight clean sheets for Well this season and striker Jutkiewicz has scored eight goals.

Brown said keeping the players would boost Well's chances of securing a place in the top six.

"Both John and Lukas have been consistent performers throughout the campaign and we're delighted that both will remain with us," Brown added.

English-born Jutkiewicz, 20, started his career with Swindon Town and made his debut aged 17.

He signed for Everton in 2007 but failed to maintain a place in David Moyes's side, joining Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season.

Ousted Motherwell manager Jim Gannon signed 6ft 4in keeper Ruddy twice when he was in charge at Stockport.

Ruddy started his career with Cambridge United in 2004 and made 43 appearances before sealing a £250,000 move to Everton the following year.

He has also enjoyed loan spells at Rushden & Diamonds, Chester, Wrexham, Bristol City and Crewe.
