Well deal-in midfielder Hateley

Hateley came through the youth ranks at Reading

Tom Hateley, the 19-year-old son of former Rangers and England striker Mark, has signed for Motherwell.

The midfielder, who was previously with Reading, joins as a free agent after a successful trial and has signed a one-year contract at Fir Park.

Hateley, who had a loan spell at Basingstoke Town, is a former captain of Reading's youth team and helped the club win their reserve league in 2007.

He becomes Well manager Jim Gannon's fifth signing of the summer.
