McGhee rues Well's missed chances

Mark McGhee
McGhee said his side should have won the game

Motherwell manager Mark McGhee expressed frustration after his side's 1-1 draw with Dundee United.

"I'm pleased to get a point and a little frustrated not to get all three," he told BBC Sport.

"I think we did enough in the game to deserve the three, but didn't earn them by getting that second goal.

"Missing a penalty, hitting the bar and missing chances is disappointing. But overall, I'm pleased with my side's performance."

McGhee added: "We have to keep playing like that. If we do and we win games, fantastic.

"If we play like that but don't win, we've just got to live with it because you can't ask any more than that.

"John Sutton was excellent. He gave everyone a lift by coming in and made a difference physically, freeing Chris Porter up a little.

"I thought he was terrific given that hasn't been playing and his fitness needs work."
