Malpas was upset at losing against ten man Dundee United

Motherwell manager Maurice Malpas hit out at the slack defending which cost his side in the 3-2 defeat by 10-man Dundee United at Fir Park.
The visitors won despite defender Christian Kalvenes' dismissal and the Well boss saw an opportunity missed.
He said: "Our defending today was pathetic. If you defend like that, you are going to struggle.
"I thought we did well enough going forward, but we have to defend far better as a team than we did today."
Malpas is now hoping to secure two new signings early next week, in an effort to shake things up at Fir Park.
"We are into the stage where we need some freshness about the squad and the team," he added.
