Boss Terry Butcher said there was no inspirational chat at half-time as Motherwell came from behind to win 4-2 against Dundee United.
"People might think it was a great team talk at half-time, but I don't do them," said the former England player.
"The players were all quiet in the dressing room, because United had one chance and scored from it.
"They went out and worked hard to put it right. The effort from the players was tremendous."
"It reminds me of when I played for Ipswich Town," he added.
"Our team had great belief that we could always come back, and that's what we did."
