Morton have signed David Witteveen on loan from Hearts as fellow striker Iain Russell was farmed out by the Greenock club to Stirling Albion.

Both players will remain with their new sides until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old Witteveen arrived from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer but scored his only Hearts goal in August.

He made the last of his 11 appearances in January and has not featured since Jim Jefferies took over as manager from the sacked Csaba Laszlo.

The 27-year-old Russell has already spent a spell on loan this season, scoring once in six appearances for Stirling's Second Division rivals Alloa Athletic.

He made six appearances for First Division outfit Morton this season, five of them since returning from Recreation Park, but has yet to score.

Meanwhile, Morton Under-19 goalkeeper Ryan Williams has joined junior side Largs Thistle on loan.
