Morton make approach for Moore

Stirling Albion's Allan Moore has confirmed that he has been given permission to speak to Morton about the managerial vacancy at Cappielow.

The 44-year-old has been in charge at Forthbank since 2002 and the Binos currently sit top of Division Two.

The former striker can count Morton among the many clubs he turned out for during a long career.

James Grady and Allan McManus have been looking after the Greenock side since David Irons was sacked in September.

The veteran players have expressed an interest in taking the job on permanently but Moore would appear to be the favourite for the post.

Earlier this month, Moore talked enthusiastically about a move into a full-time position.

At the time, he said: "I'm looking to take Stirling back up.

"I've got a good job here and a good job at Cumbernauld College. But, if they (Morton) came knocking, I'd like to speak to them."

Moore will be in charge when Stirling Albion host Clyde on Saturday.
