Wylie eases Morton keeper crisis

Veteran goalkeeper Wylie, 43, could make a comeback for Morton

Morton have registered 43-year-old goalkeeping coach David Wylie as a player after losing three keepers through injury since July.

First-choice goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert is out with a broken foot, while Colin Stewart is also injured.

And on-loan goalie Bryn Halliwell, having returned from a back injury, is recovering after being taken to hospital after playing Ross County.

The Ton have played 19-year-old Ryan McWilliams in their recent matches.

McWilliams got his chance for the First Division Greenock side against Dunfermline when Halliwell suffered a back spasm 20 minutes before kick-off.

He has since played against Ayrshire sides Ayr United and Kilmarnock.

By contrast, Wylie played 482 games for the Ton over a 13-year period that ended in 1998 and had spells at Clyde and Clydebank.
