McIlroy to release Artell on loan

Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy says he is willing to let David Artell leave Christie Park on loan.

The 27-year-old former Rotherham and Chester defender has not been involved since the 5-0 defeat against Gillingham in October.

"We're looking at all options and I have decided David can go out on loan," said McIlroy.

"He isn't involved with the side at the moment and needs to be playing first-team football."
