Morecambe assistant manager Mark Lillis believes it is only a matter of time before the club record their first win of the League Two season.

The Shrimps, who face Bury at the weekend, have lost their opening two league games, as well as being knocked out of the Carling Cup.

"We've got to get a win as quick as we can," Lillis told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"We've got a lot of new bodies, but we've got a good squad and need to stand up and be counted."

Lillis said the club are still looking to add to their squad, and revealed manager Sammy McIlroy is targeting a number of key areas.

"I still think we need a little bit of experience, but we're working every day to bring in players.

"One or two might have to leave, that's the way budgets go at football clubs. But we've had two or three lads down on our wanted list.

"You're always trying to get players that'll come in and improve you."
