Morecambe's promotion hopes have been a dealt a blow after learning that top scorer Michael Twiss is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Twiss, who has scored 14 times this term, is thought to have damaged medial ligaments in Saturday's defeat at Gravesend & Northfleet.
Boss Sammy McIlroy said: "We will probably be without Michael for the season. He is a key player for us.
"Losing a key player gives other teams a lift but we must overcome that."
