Morcambe have appointed caretaker-boss Sammy McIlroy as their new manager.
Former Manchester United midfielder McIlroy had been in temporary charge at Christie Park since November following Jim Harvey's heart attack.
Harvey was released from his contract this week after 12 years in charge of the Shrimps.
McIlroy told Morecambe's website: "I'm delighted to accept. Morecambe's an ambitious club and I want to play my part in bringing success."
McIlroy guided Morecambe to the Conference play-offs, where they were beaten 4-3 on aggregate by Hereford.
Morecambe chairman Peter McGuigan said: "We're pleased Sammy has accepted and trust the supporters will give him their backing."
McGuigan also announced plans to develop the East Terrace at Christie Park at a cost of £1m. The work should be completed in the time for the 2007-08 season.
