Morecambe have begun their rebuilding efforts for next season's Conference campaign by signing Chester's Michael Twiss and Jimmy Kelly from Scarborough.
Twiss had long been a Morecambe target
Former Port Vale player Twiss, 26, turned down a new deal with the Conference champions to accept a three-year contract at Christie Park.
The experienced Kelly, 31, is a former Scarborough captain and has agreed a two-year deal.
Morecambe narrowly missed out on the Conference play-offs for a league spot.
Although manager Jimmy Harvey is keen to strengthen the squad for next term, he has kept faith with many of this season's squad.
Youngsters Danny Carlton, Gary Hunter, Paul Osborne, Nick Rogan and Kieran Walmsley have been offered deals after establishing themselves at first-team level in this campaign.
Midfielder Michael Stringfellow has also been offered a new contract.
