Montrose sign defender Crighton

Crighton played 18 times for Montrose while on loan

Montrose have signed Sean Crighton on a permanent basis after the centre-half impressed on loan from St Mirren.

The 19-year-old has now been released by the Scottish Premier League club.

Montrose manager Steven Tweed said: "Sean had been training at Morton, so I am really glad I was able to convince him to come to us.

"He is exactly what I am looking for in terms of his ability and willingness to learn the game. He is good in the air and strong on the ground."

Crighton made 18 appearances for Montrose after joining the Third Division outfit in December.
