Moffat joins influx at Montrose

Montrose have made former East Fife and Forfar manager Jim Moffat assistant boss and signed three more players.

Manager Steven Tweed has added midfielder Sean Anderson and two goalkeepers, Stuart Hall and Steven Coutts, to his squad.

Anderson, who had spells as a youth with Celtic and Dundee United, was with East Stirlingshire last season.

Hall, 22, arrives from juniors Thornton Hibs, while Coutts, 19, was released after three years with Motherwell.

Coutts began his career with Rangers, while Hall has previous senior experience with Raith Rovers.

Tweed told his club website: "I've watched Stuart three times all told and had him training with us last season, so we've done our homework."

The Third Division club had already signed five players since the end of the season.

Midfielder Sean Fleming and defenders Gordon Pope and Fraser Milligan all arrived from Dundee United, while striker Jon Voigt and utility man James Collier were previously with junior outfit Carnoustie Panmure.

Moffat, who had two spells as a goalkeeper with Montrose, was four years in charge of East Fife, leading them to promotion from Division Three, and a season with Forfar.
