Devaney eyes new start at MK Dons

Devaney won promotion to the Championship with Barnsley

MK Dons new loan signing Martin Devaney said he hopes the month-long move will rejuvenate his career.

The 29-year-old midfielder signed from parent club Barnsley after failing to start for the Championship side since early September.

"I am usually a first-team starter and that hasn't been happening for me," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"If I do the business here it can open up other doors. But first and foremost I want to win matches here."

He added: "The best thing for me to do is go out and get games, and get back playing football. "

And Devaney readily admits working with MK Dons boss Paul Ince was an added incentive for him to sign.

"After a change of manager it has been a frustrating time for me," he said.

"His record speaks for itself. I can learn from him, even though I am 29 and have played a lot of football. You never stop learning."

The former Watford, Coventry and Cheltenham player will be able to play in both the FA Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy for the Dons.
