MK Dons swoop to re-sign Johnson

League One side Milton Keynes Dons have re-signed winger Jemal Johnson on a two-year-deal.

The 24-year-old left Stadium MK in May after failing to agree a new contract, but now becomes Paul Ince's first signing since his return as manager.

"It has taken time to arrange but we're delighted to have JJ back," chairman Pete Winkleman told the club's website.

"He is the kind of player that excites a crowd and I know the fans will be as pleased as I am about his return."

Ince signed Johnson during his first spell in charge of the Dons in August 2007, after the pair were teammates at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The American-born former Manchester United trainee made 83 appearances in his first two seasons at Stadium MK, scoring 14 goals, and has returned after contract negotiations continued following his release.

"He showed at times last season that he is capable of producing fantastic performances," added Winkleman.

"Now that his future has been decided, I think we can look forward to seeing him produce those on a regular basis."
