Winkelman is looking for a third manager in two years at Stadium MK

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman says it is too early to talk about specific names to replace former manager Roberto Di Matteo.

The 39-year-old Italian was confirmed as the new West Bromwich Albion manager on Tuesday evening.

"It is hard to make a comment about anybody at this stage," Winkelman told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"We have been through this process before and what is important is that we take a break to see what is happening."

"We have got one of the most coveted jobs in management."

Di Matteo was in charge at Stadium MK for less than a year, guiding the club to the League One play-offs.

Winkelman added: "Every year we have seen extraordinary events. For our supporters there is never a dull moment and I think that over time we have become good at managing things."

"It is a very exciting opportunity for anybody out there and it will no doubt generate a lot of interest.

"I am very focused in getting the right person at Milton Keynes and we have a big ambition at this football club.

"The whole city was disappointed that we weren't able to make promotion this year but at least we had an exciting season.

"We'll put our best foot forward and we are looking forward to the challenge.
