MK Dons manager Roberto Di Matteo has signed former Chelsea team-mate Tore Andre Flo for the rest of the season.

The ex-Norway striker, 35, announced his retirement from football in March following a spell at Leeds United.

Di Matteo told his club's website: "We were always looking to get one more striker in with different qualities.

"I hope he's going to contribute to the team with his experience and his vision but he's a striker so we hope he's going to score loads of goals."

Flo began his career in his native Norway with Sogndal, Tromso and Brann before joining Chelsea in the summer of 1997 for 300,000.

He them moved to Scottish club Rangers for 12m.

Flo played for a season with Sunderland, between 2002 and 2003, before moving to Italy to join Serie A side Siena for two years.

In July 2005 he returned to Norway to join Valerenga and spent a season with the Oslo club before joining Leeds in January 2007.
