Millwall have sacked joint managers Keith Stevens and Alan McLeary.

The Division Two club said it did not believe that the two former players could meet Millwall's aspirations.

A statement from the club read: "It is with sadness that we report that Millwall FC has today parted company with the joint managers Keith Stevens and Alan McLeary.

"The board were unanimous in the decision to dispense with their services."

Millwall, mid-table after drawing at Brentford yesterday, plan to name a long-term replacement for Stevens and McLeary soon.

But in the meantime Ray Harford will take charge and will lead the Lions into Tuesday's Worthington Cup second-round first-leg clash with Ipswich at the New Den.
