Blackburn seal Neill deal
Lucas Neill (l)
Utility man Neill can play in various positions
Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of midfielder Lucas Neill from Millwall.

The Australian international will cost Rovers an initial fee of 600,000, which will rise depending on appearances.

Neill, 23, was Millwall's longest-serving player at The Den but submitted a transfer request last week.

The utility player went to Ewood Park on a three-day trial and impressed the coaching staff enough to be offered a contract.

'Looks good'

Rovers assistant manager Tony Parkes said: "We haven't got a particularly big squad, because if we get a full-back injured, we struggle.

"So we do need to add to the squad.

"It's not always easy to judge a player in training, but he's looked good."

There is still a chance the player could make his debut against Sunderland on Saturday if his registration can be transferred in time.
