George Boateng has committed himself to Middlesbrough, amid reports that newly-promoted Birmingham could target the midfielder.
The 31-year-old, who joined Boro in 2002, says he wants to see out the remaining two years of his contract.
"I am happy here. I appreciate what the club has done for me," he said.
"Whether my name has been mentioned to other clubs, I am very loyal. Unless I am told different, I will be here as long as my contract is running."
Speaking to Boro's official website, Boateng added: "I met Birmingham manager Steve Bruce two seasons ago on holiday. We had a little chat - not about football.
"He is a nice man and I have to respect his view, but once more, I am happy here."
Boateng was made captain by new Boro boss Gareth Southgate but he endured a difficult season until finding his form in recent weeks.
But he said: "I am delighted to be the captain - it is a big honour - and if I am appreciated for what I do for the club, then there will be no changes."
