Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson has signed a new four-year contract.
The England Under-19 international, 18, had been a loan target for Bradford manager Colin Todd, who admitted his interest in the player last month.
However, Todd told the Telegraph & Argus: "They won't be letting anyone go out on loan until after pre-season."
Boro boss Gareth Southgate told his club's website: "Adam has shown us that he's got great potential - now it's for us to try to develop that potential."
Johnson has made 19 first-team appearances for the Teesside club, including three in last season's Uefa Cup.
He scored his first senior goal in the 1-1 draw at Bolton on 3 May.
