Debeve signs for Boro
Former Lens midfielder MichaŽl DebŤve

Middlesbrough have snapped up French midfielder MichaŽl DebŤve on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old was recently released by French club Lens and is a former team-mate of left-back Franck Queudrue, who is also on loan at the Riverside.

We're very pleased to have completed the signing of MichaŽl
Boro boss Steve McClaren

The former Toulouse midfielder has graced the Champions League for current French leaders Lens and scored 14 times in his 198 appearances for the club.

"We're very pleased to have completed the signing of MichaŽl," Boro manager Steve McClaren told the club's official website.

"He will become a useful squad member as we enter the final phase of the season."

Boro are now waiting for international clearance for the player as they strive for Premiership survival.

McClaren has guided the club recently to relative mid-table safety but the club are just six points clear of third bottom Blackburn Rovers having played one game more.
