David Holdsworth led Mansfield to a mid-table finish last season.
Mansfield Town have signed Stevenage Borough midfielder Gary Mills on a two-year contract.
Mills, 28, turned down the offer of a new deal at Stevenage to link up with Stags boss David Holdsworth.
The former Rushden midfielder said: "I see Mansfield as a Football League club. I was very impressed with what the manager had to say."
Mills becomes Holdsworth's fourth new signing of the summer, in addition to the capture of loanee Daryl Clare.
Clare has completed a permanent switch from Rushden & Diamonds after ending the season on loan at Field Mill, while Luke Jones, Jake Speight and Luke Graham are the other new arrivals.
