Mansfield Town manager David Holdsworth has completed a hat-trick of signings as he looks to build a squad to launch a promotion bid for next season.

Holdsworth has signed central defender Luke Jones and striker Jake Speight, while out-of-contract forward Rob Duffy has re-signed on a two-year deal.

Jones, 22, moves from Kidderminster Harriers while Speight, 23, was most recently with Droylsden.

Duffy, 26, joined in January and scored nine goals in 20 games last season.

Holdsworth was thrilled to have bought in some new faces and to have retained Duffy's services.

Jake is quick, has an eye for goal and is very hungry and we need hunger in our squad

"I am delighted," Holdsworth told BBC Radio Nottingham. "It's an exciting prospect for Rob.

"It gives Rob the opportunity to show that he wants to go back to the league. There's a stigma attached to him because of the way he runs but I couldn't be happier with him.

"Luke is a centre-half who can also play at right-back. He is strong and commanding and someone who I think the fans will like.

"Jake has been training with us for the past six weeks. He is very quick, has an eye for goal and is very hungry and we need hunger in our squad."

Meanwhile Holdsworth has told Mark Stallard and Adie Moses that they are free to find new clubs.

The former joint-caretaker managers are still under contract until the end of June but can now find clubs.

"They are two senior players who have been different class," Holdsworth said.

"At the moment I am not in a position to offer them anything so they are welcome to recognise other clubs and I won't stand in their way."
