Duffy had a trial with Mansfield in the summer after his release by Oxford
Mansfield have signed Newport County striker Rob Duffy.
The Stags made their move after Nottingham Forest recalled on-loan striker Emile Sinclair, who had scored five goals in 14 starts.
Swansea-born Duffy, 26, who had a trial at Field Mill in the summer, is new boss David Holdsworth's third signing.
He is the brother of Portsmouth's Wales defender Richard and has played for Rushden & Diamonds, Wrexham and Oxford, for whom he hit 20 goals in 2006/07.
The new manager has also brought in 18-year-old former Chesterfield youth goalkeeper Dan Whatsize on trial.
He will be available for selection in Saturday's home match against Altrincham.
Holdsworth replaced manager Billy McEwan last month - who was sacked after just five months in charge at Field Mill.
