Mansfield run rule over Hardy
Former Wrexham and Port Vale defender Phil Hardy has been given a chance to earn a move to Mansfield Town.
Stags boss Stuart Watkiss is looking for a new full-back to ease an injury crisis at Field Mill.
And 29-year-old Hardy, who started over 450 games for Wrexham before spending a season at Vale Park, could fit the bill after being a given a run-out in Town's reserves. "We need players, but we need the right players," Watkiss told the club's website. "We'll have a look at Phil and he could find himself involved on Saturday if things go well over the next couple of days."
