Mansfield pair earn new deals
Mansfield Town have rewarded youngsters Andy White and Dave Jervis with extended contracts at Field Mill.
The 20-year-olds had 12 months to run on their existing deals. But both have been replaced by new two-year contracts which striker White and full-back Jervis have accepted.
"I am absolutley delighted that Andy and Dave have signed," Mansfield boss Stuart Watkiss told the club's website. "It gives them some security and peace of mind which is very important. "Along with the other youngsters in the team, Andy and Dave are pivotal to the future of this football club." The manager's top priority now is to replace leading scorer Chris Greenacre following his move to Stoke City. Watkiss has invited ex-Nottingham Forest striker Bobby Howe for a trial period following his release from Swindon. And former Crewe midfielder Kevin Street is also training with the Second Division new boys.
