Stags move for Street

Mansfield boss Stuart Watkiss may make a move for Kevin Street after taking the former Crewe midfielder on trial.

Street played more than 100 games for the Railwaymen and spent a spell on loan at Luton Town last season.

But he was one of six players released by Crewe at the end of the season as a cost-cutting measure in the wake of the collapse of the ITV Digital television deal.

Now the 24-year-old has been given the chance to pick up his career with the promoted Stags.

Mansfield boss Watkiss said: "Kevin is a versatile player whose primary place is centre midfield.

"He has been brought up through the Crewe youth system, which has been proven to produce some very good players," he added.
