Manchester United's Wayne Rooney fit for Bolton game

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected injury fears over Wayne Rooney ahead of Saturday's Premier League match at Bolton.

The striker had knee problems earlier this month and was seen limping heavily from Old Trafford after United's 2-1 win against Liverpool on Sunday.

However, Ferguson says Rooney - who has scored 17 goals in his past 13 matches - will be fit for Saturday's clash.

"He's OK, there's no problem with the knee," said the United boss.

"He had some bad bruising for a couple of weeks but he's played since then and there's no problems."

Rooney, 24, has been in sparkling form for United this season, hitting 26 goals in 29 league matches and 33 in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs could start for United, who are one point clear of Chelsea at the top of the Premier League, in Saturday's Reebok Stadium clash.

The winger came off the bench to play in United's home win against Liverpool after being out for five weeks with a broken arm.

Defender John O'Shea is back in training and is expected to be available for selection from the start of April.
