Royle's Kitson swoop
Paul Kitson could be frozen out at Upton Park
Paul Kitson could be frozen out at Upton Park
Manchester City boss Joe Royle is lining up a bid for West Ham United striker Paul Kitson.

The former Newcastle and Derby player is likely to be squeezed out of first team contention at Upton Park following the arrival of Davor Suker and Frederic Kanoute.

Kitson had been linked with moves to either Charlton Athletic - where he has had a spell on loan - or Queen's Park Rangers.

But City are now interested as manager Joe Royle attempts to strengthen his squad for their return to the Premiership.

The Hammers are likely to ask around £1m for Kitson.
