Taibi moves back to Italy

Massimo Taibi's short-lived Man Utd career is over
Manchester United misfit Massimo Taibi is returning to Italy with Serie A club Reggina.

The goalkeeper joined Reggina on loan towards the end of last season after failing to make an impression at Old Trafford following his 4.4m move from Venezia.

Taibi is returning to his native country after a 2.5m deal was agreed with United.

He said: "I promised the Reggina fans at the end of the last home game in May that I would do everything possible to stay.

Concluded

"So now I'm very pleased everything is concluded and I can get my career back on track."

Reggina president Lillo Foti added: "We've had to make a big effort financially, but it was worth it."

He made a series of costly errors in his handful of games for United after his move.

Taibi has since seen United sign Fabien Barthez, but his confidence is restored after playing a major role in helping the tiny southern club stay in Serie A last season when they were hotly-tipped to go straight back down.
