Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was far from happy with his side despite the 4-3 win over Hull that moved them up to third in the table.
The visitors came from 4-1 down to push United hard in the closing stages.
Ferguson said: "I feel a bit low. We should have won by 10 or 11 and we ended up scrambling for a victory.
"We might have been embarrassed at the end. Cristiano Ronaldo could have had five on his own and I don't know how many chances Dimitar Berbatov created."

United looked to be coasting after two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and one apiece from Michael Carrick and Nemanja Vidic.
But Bernard Mendy and Geovanni hit back to leave United to endure an anxious last eight minutes.
