Manchester United forward Manucho is set to be loaned out to leading Greek side Panathinaikos for the remainder of the season.
Ferguson signed Manucho after his three-week trial with the club
The 24-year-old Angolan star is currently playing for his country at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.
He signed a three-year contract with United earlier this month after moving from Angolan side Petro Athletico.
"After the ACN I will return to Luanda and then head to Athens," Manucho told Angolan television.
"I am looking forward to playing in Greece before hopefully being a success at Old Trafford."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson explained: "We have farmed him out to Panathinaikos for the rest of the season as he will get games there.
"They have a Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro and as Manucho speaks Portuguese, it is comfortable for him. Then we will apply for a work permit in the summer."
