Manchester United's Republic of Ireland midfielder Darron Gibson faces an unspecified spell out after fracturing his toe in a reserve team match.
Gibon recently won his first cap for the Republic
Gibson, who recently won his first cap against the Czech Republic, had been expected to make his United first-team debut in the Carling Cup next week.
But he suffered the injury in a 5-2 loss to Sporting Lisbon's reserves.
The 19-year-old is now a doubt for the Republic's games against Germany and Cyprus next month at Croke Park.
