Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been banned for one European match and fined by Uefa for making a gesture at Benfica fans.
Ronaldo was booed whenever he touched the ball
Ronaldo was charged with misconduct for the middle-finger salute, which happened during December's Champions League game in Portugal.
The Portuguese winger has been fined £4,000 and suspended from one Uefa club competition match.
The 20-year-old former Sporting Lisbon player has until Thursday to appeal.
Ronaldo was booed by Benfica fans throughout the whole match, which United lost 2-1 and were eliminated from the competition.
After the game, Ronaldo said the abuse he suffered was over the top.
"There was nothing to justify the way the crowd treated me," he said.
