Manchester United defender Jonathan Spector is to join Blackburn Rovers on loan for the rest of the season.
Spector, 18, made his first senior start against Blackburn in August, but his opportunities have been limited by the arrival of Gabriel Heinze.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV: "Hopefully it will provide Jonathan with the chance to play first team football.
"It's a fantastic move for him - we're sure he'll come back a better player."
Spector will join a celebrated list of Old Trafford players that Ferguson has sent out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience.
England captain David Beckham spent time at Preston, while John O'Shea has had spells at Bournemouth and Belgian feeder club Royal Antwerp.
Ferguson currently has keeper Luke Steele and striker Eddie Johnson on loan at Coventry.
Walsall boss Paul Merson recently made an approach to take Kieran Richardson, Chris Eagles and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake on loan but Ferguson rejected the offer.
