Cash boost for Man Utd
David Beckham
Beckham was sold in June
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to receive £11m of the transfer fee for David Beckham in a lump sum.

United were originally due to receive £12m in equal instalments over four years but will now receive £11m up front.

The new terms will see United receive £1m less but allow them to bank the money immediately.

The club have already received about £5m of the £25m transfer fee with the rest being subject to Real's performances in the Champions League.

Under the deal, the club will collect £875,000 each time Real qualify for the Champions League over the next four seasons.

The same amount is also payable if the Spanish club go on to reach the quarter-finals of the competition in those seasons.

United and Real reached agreement over the sale of England captain Beckham in June.
