Keane's Haaland call
Roy Keane will fight FA disrepute charges
Roy Keane will fight FA disrepute charges
Roy Keane could call Manchester City's Alfie Haaland as a key witness at his Football Association disciplinary hearing.

The Manchester United captain will appeal against two FA disrepute charges on 15 October and could face a lengthy suspension if found guilty.

The charges relate to an account in his autobiography of an incident with Haaland during a match in April 2001.

The first centres on the alleged element of revenge in his tackle on Haaland.

The second regards the 31-year-old former Ireland captain allegedly publishing his account of the incident for financial reward.

But since the initial incident Haaland has claimed on his personal website the tackle did not cause his long injury lay-off.

Keane's tackle caught the Norwegian above the right knee but Haaland played again a week later and has since been out of action and had surgery on his left knee.

Haaland could be called by Keane to back up the claims, according to the Manchester Evening News.
