Neville condemns title rivals
Phil Neville made his debut as a teenager
Neville was given a chance as a youngster
Manchester United defender Phil Neville has said Chelsea and Arsenal do not give their homegrown talent a fair chance.

Neville, now 25, is one of several players at United who has benefitted from Sir Alex Ferguson's policy of pushing his talented youngsters.

The defender made his United debut eight years ago and - despite failing to command a regular place - has since made 150 appearances.

And Neville reckons that several talented youngsters at rivals Arsenal and Chelsea could thrive in the Premiership - but are not given the opportunity.

"Chelsea have got a lot of good young English players on their books but they are not given a chance," Neville told MUTV.

"Arsenal won the Youth Cup twice in the last three years but you don't see many of their young players coming through either.

"The foreign managers probably don't have the knowledge of the English players and go for the safe option of using foreigners.

"At Manchester United, the situation is different. If you are good enough you will play.

"We have lads such as Michael Stewart and John O'Shea coming through who are going to be great players for this club."
