Ayala wants Man Utd move
Roberto Ayala (centre) in action during last season's Champions League final
Ayala has his sights set on joining Manchester United
Argentine defender Roberto Ayala believes he will be the next superstar to join Manchester United.

The 28-year-old Valencia player said United have been chasing him since last summer.

He is now ready to quit the Spanish club if a fee can be agreed.

He told the News of the World: "United made their offer, I am happy, they are happy and it is up to Valencia to accept it.

"United are interested in me and I am very interested in joining them. It is up to the clubs now."

"My agent had an offer in his hand faxed from United in the summer but Valencia would not let me leave.

"That offer was a good one and I am told the offer still stands. I can do nothing until Valencia agree to sell, but I love the idea."

Ayala played in last season's Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
