Butter-fingers Barthez
A dejected Barthez as his error gifts Arsenal a goal
It is not all bad news for accident-prone Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez.
The French star could start a new career - advertising butter. After his howlers against Arsenal on Sunday, supermarket giant Tesco are keen to sign the calamity keeper to endorse their own-brand butter. And store chiefs are so convinced that his history of howlers is the perfect image for their products, they are even considering developing a Barthez Butter.
And he has been blamed for other bloopers this season, which has left United off the Premier League pace. He could now be dropped by United as manager Sir Alex Ferguson tries to get his team's season back on track. A Tesco spokesman said: "Barthez and butter could prove to be the greatest day for Anglo-French relations since the Channel Tunnel."
