Fergie: Chelsea are biggest threat
Emmanuel Petit
Petit is a good buy according to Sir Alex Ferguson
Sir Alex Ferguson believes Chelsea could be the main threat to his Manchester United team this season.

Ferguson said Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri had spent wisely this summer and he singled out Emmanuel Petit and Boudewijn Zenden as good buys.

United had been interested in signing Petit from Barcelona but the Frenchman ended up moving to Chelsea, who finished sixth in last year's Premiership.

"I think the danger this year will be Chelsea," Ferguson said on MUTV.

"The signing of Petit was a very good signing. I think I can see a different shape to their side.

"They've a lot of pace on the sides in Gronkjaer and Zenden so counter-attacking they will be useful. They also have a lot of pace up front."

Other than Chelsea, Ferguson said that only Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds could challenge United.

"There are five teams and the champions will be one of those five," he said.
