Manchester City have handed a trial to Asian player of the year and Saudi Arabia captain Yasser Al Qahtani.
Al Qahtani starred for Saudi Arabia in the 2007 Asian Cup
The 25-year-old Al Hilal striker has arrived in Manchester with his club's president Prince Mohammed Bin Faisal and his agent Turki Al Mukairin.
"I'm now in England after I got an invitation letter from Manchester City," Al Qahtani said.
"I am glad to train with such a good club in England and I will try to prove that Saudi players are good players."
Al Qahtani joined Al Hilal from Al-Qadisiya for a fee of around £2.5m in 2005.
He helped Saudi Arabia reach the final of the Asian Cup in July and has continually been linked with a move to a European club.
Al Qahtani was offered the chance to train with Chelsea when he was crowned Asian player of the year in November.
