Anelka insists he was misquoted in the News of the World article

Nicolas Anelka has distanced himself from a newspaper report suggesting he came close to walking out on Manchester City because of racial abuse.
Anelka admitted he had been the victim of racist insults in football but said he was referring to his spells in the French and Spanish leagues.
"I have never had a problem with any of our fans at Manchester City," he said.
"In the interview I gave, I spoke about the issue of racism and my experiences in France and Spain in particular."
Anelka added: "In those countries, you did tend to hear some racial abuse when you were visiting other grounds, whereas in England it is better."
City were eager to highlight their strong anti-racist policy and echoed Anelka's assurances that he had no problem with the club's supporters.
"Nicolas is a dedicated professional who is happy at the club and delighted with the support he receives from the fans," said a City spokesman.
"To suggest any racial problems from our fans is a slur on their good name.
"The club has worked hard over a number of decades to promote racial harmony
and encourage all sections of society to support Manchester City.
"Our record is second to none, and the robust attitude we take to any complaints of racial abuse at the City of Manchester Stadium is testimony to that.
"Last season we had 10 arrests in the stadium following complaints of racial
abuse. While we would like it to be zero, that figure compares favourably with any other Premiership club."
